Hall-of-Famer and New Jersey native Monte Irvin's nickname is not remembered today but it was, believe it or not, Mr. Murder. With 10 years in the Negro National League and eight in the NL, Irvin had his best season with the Giants in 1951 with 121 RBI. Centered up and to the right with some gentle corner rounding, the 1952 Topps card sene here still looks sweet. The blue ink signature is a bit rambling and a stray mark has come through from Irvin's pen into the upper border. Authenticated and encapsulated by PSA/DNA.
