Yet another member of the no-name brigade that got Topps 97 cards deep into the 1952 high numbers, Jack Merson had a brief major league career and appeared in exactly one set, seen here.  Looking like a preview of the following season's painted set, the portrait seen here is a dramatic one, on a card that's seen some flipping or other handling.  His signature is bold and done in Blue Sharpie and it's a tough, tough combination as this PSA/DNA authentic card is one of a mere two signed examples in the PSA pop report.
