5-time World Series champion and Hall of Famer, Lefty Gomez tosses during spring training in this 8" x 10" photo from Cosmo-Sileo. Gomez currently holds the record for most victories without a loss in World Series history with six, recording two in both the 1936 and 1937 Fall Classics. Among many other superlatives, Gomez also won 20 games four times and earned pitching's "triple crown" in both 1934 and 1937, leading the league in wins, strikeouts, and ERA. Notations identifying Gomez appear in ballpoint along the bottom border of photo but surface is otherwise clean and bright. Paper remnants remain affixed to verso in all four corners and a large Cosmo-Sileo stamp appears at center. Encapsulated as a Type 1 photo by PSA/DNA.
