Shot during the 1930''s, this 6.5" x 8.5" news service photo captures Babe Ruth at the plate, likely launching another majestic drive. It appears this aerial close-up of Ruth has been cropped from a much wider shot, which would account for the apparent loss of some finer details and reduction in tonal contrast of the image. Still, a great look at The Babe, produced directly from an original negative. Photo surface appears free of wrinkles or creasing typically found with news service photos from this era and borders remain bright white, though "Babe Ruth" has been written in ballpoint along the bottom. Small paper remnants remain affixed to verso at all four corners and large International stamping appears at the top. Authenticated and encapsulated as a Type 2 photo, created sometime during the 1940's, by PSA/DNA.
