Three-card strip given to Topps salesmen as a sales aid for retailers to preview the upcoming year"s cards. These panels are not easy to find and are highly desirable and sought after by vintage card collectors. The reverse side of the panels included a decale with sales points about that year"s card issue. In the case of the 1955 samples affixed to the bottom card in the panel was a 1955 Topps Doubleheader card (not included on this panel).Like many salesman"s samples this one exhibits considerable wear from being transported to multiple retailers being used as a display item in a store and otherwise taking a beating. However unlike many this particular item has held up very well with brilliant color and very minimal surface wear. One small wrinkle is evident between the cards of Stan Hack and Windy McCall. Two of the four corners still contain Scotch tape remnants and the upper-right corner exhibits some paper loss likely from the removal of tape. The decal on the reverse is largely intact though a portion at the top has been torn away.This is a very strong example of a difficult companion piece from one of the most classic and widely-collected sets in Topps" illustrious history.
