Fans in 1947 were treated to the release of Bond Bread’s groundbreaking card set featuring a player endorsement from rookie Jackie Robinson, the majors' first African-American ballplayer who broke in with the Dodgers that very season. The issue contained 13 different cards each including a black and white image of Robinson and measuring 2 1/4" x 3 1/2". This exceptional, large press photograph features one of the 13 images featured on Bond Bread's Jackie Robinson cards, depicting Robinson leaping to catch a baseball at Ebbets Field (card shown for illustration purposes only and is not included).

While this photo remains in superb overall condition, with the central image in sharp focus, there is a faint wrinkle in the emulsion running from center of top border across robinson’s right arm to the left border. Corners exhibit light wear with remnants of clear tape along the top edge. Verso is bright white with areas of tape residue present at top and bottom. A UPI stamp appears towards bottom, identifying them as the issuing service.

Though developed directly from the original negative, analysis by PSA has concluded this example was created sometime between 1958-62, thus landing it as a Type 2 photo on their authentication scale. Measures 8” x 10”. Encapsulated as a Type 2 photo by PSA/DNA.
