Original Type 1 news service photo featuring Hall of Famer George "Highpockets" Kelly in spring training with the 1920 New York Giants. Kelly has been partially outlined with grease pencil to separate him from the background and there are pencil notations, crop marks and pinholes found mostly constrained within the white borders. Verso does exhibit some smudging and includes full paper caption suggesting Kelly will be replacing Hal Chase as the Giants first baseman. Indeed, that is what happened as Chase was out of baseball by 1920 while Kelly enjoyed his first full season in the major leagues. Kelly's Giants would then appear in four World Series from 1921-1924, going 2-2 in the Fall Classic over that span.
