Beautiful Old Judge cabinet photo of Boston infielder John Morrill. Morrill played 15 seasons all but two with the Boston Red Stockings compiling a .260 batting average in nearly 5 000 lifetime at bats between 1876 and 1890. The card graded POOR 10 by SGC actually presents remarkably well the peach-colored mount particularly clean but worn at the corners a slight pencil marking of "160-" on the reverse. The photo itself also presents particularly well with amazing contrast among the best we've seen on an N173. The surface of the photo however is marred with multiple black marks that under heavy magnification appear to be deep scuffs of some kind perhaps even filled in with dark pencil or ink. Still none of the marks obscure the image itself a perfect example of how beautiful 19th Century cabinet photos can be. Population Data SGC Population: 1 total graded PSA Population: none graded
