Nine members of the World Champion 1919 Cincinnati Reds are represented in this collection of photography, with each example measuring approx. 6" x 8". Reds aces Slim Salee (21-7) Dutch Ruether (19-6), and star third baseman Heinie Groh (.310 BA) are highlights. Also worthy of note is the presence of obscure pitcher Ed Gerner, whose entire major league career consisted of 5 appearances for the 1919 Reds. Photos display beautifully with mild scattered wear from handling, though Nick Allen and Ed Gerner's photos do exhibit a vertical crease and pinholes. Ray Fisher's photo has two corner pieces that have chipped away. Verso of each photo contains remnants of a paper tag, handwritten identification of the player and Underwood & Underwood stamping identifying them as the issuer.
Collection includes one photo each of the following players: Nick Allen, Ray Fisher, Ed Gerner, Heinie Groh, Morie Rath, Bill Rariden, Dutch Ruether, Slim Salee, Charlie See. All are fresh to the hobby and originate from the archives of Photo File, Inc. where they have been stored for several decades until this offering.
