Interesting c.1935 baseball signed by 26 members of the 1935 Boston Braves including two elegant signatures of Babe Ruth. A few members of the New York Yankees have also signed the ball. The Spalding Official League baseball remains in strong condition, protected by a light coat of shellac which has yellowed somewhat with age, adding a patina to the ball. Signatures include Ruth, Wally Berger, Bob Smith, Ruth (HOF), Leo Magnum, Frank "Shanty" Hogan, Bily Urbanski, Hal Lee, Don Heffner, Pinky Whitney, Al Spohrer, Randy Moore, Hank Gowdy, Bill McKechnie (HOF), Fred Frankhouse, Rabbit Maranville (HOF), Flint Rhem, Ed Brandt, Huck Betts, Ben Cantwell, Earle Combs (HOF), Charles Atlas (!) and a few illegible. The bulk of the signatures appear legible and dark, one Ruth signature appearing alone on the sweet spot and the other on the west panel, darker but smaller. The signature of Babe Ruth is the most coveted in the hobby; this is the first example of a team-signed baseball we have seen containing two Ruth signatures. Full LOA from James Spence Authentication.
