The 1936 Goudey and National Chicle Wide and Fine Pen cards are oversized "tall boy" cards featuring black and white photographic images of the players. In retrospect, they are the perfect medium for autographs, though the hobby long frowned upon signed cards since conventional wisdom held that the signature detracted from the technical grade of the card itself. Presented here is a wonderful example of a 1936 National Chicle Fine Pen card signed by the great Honus Wagner. The card itself has unfortunately been trimmed along the top and bottom borders, however, the signature was strong enough to garner a grade of 8 from PSA/DNA, who authenticated and encapsulated the card. Despite the aforementioned trimming, a strong signature with excellent eye appeal.
