Pitcher Elden Auker was the author of a ten-year Major League career spent mostly with Detroit, with a stop in Boston and his final three seasons with the St. Louis Browns.  His best season was 1935, when he won 18 games against 7 losses with the Tigers, with a 3.83 ERA in 36 games.  This attractive National Chicle premium was signed in blue ballpoint near the bottom of the card, the signature grading a technical 8 yet seeming light against the darker background of the card.
