1910 full-body image of shortstop and outfielder Roxy Roach of the New York Highlanders. Charles Conlon snapped this image of Roach at Hilltop Park, presumably from his favorite perch behind 3rd base where countless iconic Conlon images originated. Roach appeared in 70 games for those 1910 Highlanders before fading out of the AL by 1912. Roach was back in the majors for 1915, signed by the Buffalo Feds where featured for them at short, rounding at an infield consisting of Hal Chase (1B), Baldy Louden (2B), Harry Lord (3B), and Walter Blair (C). 8" x 10" photo is in superb condition with the only surface blemish of note being a small chip missing from the top edge. Verso is clean and includes TWO of Charles Conlon's personal stamps, one of which has been partially obscured with grease pencil. Conlon's handwritten ID of Roach appears at the top. Photo is fresh to the hobby and originates from the archives of Photo File, Inc. where it has been stored for several decades until this offering. Guaranteed Type 1.
