The black backgrounds of Dietsche Postcards make it extremely difficult to find even midgrade examples of the cards today; edges and corners are easily chipped, and even the slightest bit of surface wear is magnified by how easily it shows on the cards. This example of William Coughlin's card from the 1907 issue does show some very minor chipping and a few specks of wear here and there, however, it remains one of the highest-graded examples known, with SGC having assessed just two examples higher and PSA only one.
