Lot Description  

Exceptional 11" x 15 1/2" page from the May 16 1885 issue of Harper's Weekly featuring a beautiful woodcut composite of 12 "Champion Base-Ball Players " each in street clothes. Players included in the woodcut include Hoss Radbourn (HOF) Buck Ewing (HOF) John Morrill John Burdock Ned Williamson (HOF) Arthur Irwin Joseph Hornung Piano Legs Gore King Kelly (HOF) John Ward (HOF) Jim O'Rourke (HOF) and Thomas Easterbrook. In strong condition with very light toning around the edges a tremendous piece containing some of the most important players of the 19th Century.
