Outstanding grouping of eight official Chicago Cubs scorecards. Collection includes: 1) 1928 Scorecard: Dated June 22 1928 the second game of a twinbill with St. Louis won 4-1 by the Cards. The game has only been partially scored much of it apparently erased save for the player summaries. The scorecard is marked "RAIN" in several areas. The reverse appears to have been signed by Guy Bush and Mickey Doolan though the signatures appear to have been traced over and thus were not authenticated. 2) 1932 Scorecard: Partially-scored game against the St. Louis Cardinals. Hall of Famers include Gabby Harnett Burleigh Grimes Rogers Hornsby Kiki Cuyler Frankie Frisch Jesse Haines Dizzy Dean and Jim Bottomley. GOOD condition folded down the center with significant age-related soiling and edge wear. 3) 1933 Scorecard: Appears to be scored from September 14 4-0 loss to the New York Giants. Mel Ott homered. The scorecard is scored in dark pencil heavily notated and marked. Overall VG condition. 4) 1936 Scorecard: Neatly scored 7-0 win over the Cincinnati Reds a complete game victory for Larry French. VG/EX condition. 5) 1937 Scorecard: Partially-scored vame against the Phillies. Hall of Famers include Herman Hartnett Klein. VG/EX condition with some surface abrasions. 6) 1937 Scorecard: September 5 game against the Pirates the second game of a doubleheader won 4-1 by Pittsburgh. Hall of Famers who appeared in this game include Lloyd Waner Paul Waner Arky Vaughan and Gabby Hartnett. EX condition dated with pencil notations inside. 7) 1938 Scorecard: Unused scorecard for a game against the Boston Braves. Hall of Famers include Herman Hartnett Lazzeri Dean Stengel and Kelly. EX condition. 8) 1939 Scorecard: Unscored scorecard but with newspaper clippings and handwritten dates identifying the game as July 2 against Cincinnati. The Reds pasted the Cubs in this game 11-3 with home runs by Ernie Lombardi and Lonnie Frey. EX condition on the exterior pages but as is often the case with old newspaper clips the newspapers have resulted in excessive toning on the interior. Eight scorecards total.
