Outstanding photo taken by the Hayes photography studio in Detroit dating to 1913. The Photo and mount measure 9 1/2" x 13" and picture Cobb with his grandmother along with his children Ty Jr. and Shirley. The photo is identified by author Richard Bak in the book Ty Cobb: His Tumultuous Life and Times. The photo itself is clean save for a few minor abrasions with excellent image contrast. Its mount exhibits wear and staining a small tear and some mild paper loss along the left edge yet remains attractive. The photo is affixed to the mount loosely and haangs off at the bottom as if only glued near the top of the mount. The young Cobb appears almost placid in comparison with his in-game photos from the era. Obviously a family photo once owned by someone in Cobb's circle.
