I have one to sell!
Extremely attractive 8x10 black and white original photo mounted to a piece of heavy cardboard where it once sat inside a glass frame that we have disassembled. The photo pictures Grover Cleveland Alexander in the uniform of the Dallas Steers the Class A Texas League team where he tried to catch on after being released by Philadelphia early in the season. Alexander wasn't successful in Dallas either and ultimately latched onto the House of David team where he pitched for three seasons. Pictured here with Dallas Steers catcher Frank Tobin the photo is dated June 26 1930. Alexander has signed the photo at the lower left above a secretarial signature of Tobin. Both signatures are considerably faded more visible upon close inspection or at certain angles the Alexander signature more visible than Tobin. The photo itself presents extremely well some light surface abrasions visible along with some minor wear the reverse exhibits some paper loss and markings from where it likely was once part of a larger piece. LOA from James Spence Authentication. Please Note: the LOA from James Spence Authentication incorrectly identifies the teammate and clubhouse signature as Noodles Hahn. This is not Noodles Hahn as Hahn was 51 years old in 1930 and certainly not a catcher with the Dallas Steers. The player is Frank Tobin the catcher for the 1930 Dallas team.
