Infrequently-seen cardboard advertising sign promoting the Reach brand of baseball equipment specifically their Official American League baseballs. Advertising "Over with the Cork Center " the sign measures 12 3/4" x 17" in a vintage frame significantly larger than the high-quality tin signs we have offered in recent auctions but constructed of caradboard. A youth's face and disembodied hand holding a baseball are set againsit a greenish/gray background that may be lightly faded the sign appears lightly but evenly toned with some visible creasing and surface abrasions near the top along with what appears to be a gauge about a half-inch long creating a tear in the piece at the upper-left near the baseball. Two hole punches along the top edge are likely original to the piece and match those of a similar cardboard Reach sign offered in our fall 2019 auction. The framing prohibits us from examining the edges and reverse though we do expect some wear would be evident. A very attractive early advertising sign.
