Held on July 13 1943 at Shibe Park in Philadelphia the 1943 All-Star game was the first-ever night game the American League winning the game by a 5-3 margin. The war made for a less talent-riddled affair the game's only Hall of Famers being Billy Herman Stan Musial Ernie Lombardi Mel Ott Bobby Doerr Joe Gordon Bill Dickey Luke Appling Lou Boudreau and Hal Newhouser. The program is unscored with some surface wear noticable on the covers particularly some discoloration and heavier wear at the spine along with a strip of paper loss on the reverse. Despite this the patriotic graphics and white elephant make for an outstanding wartime program.
