1922 letter written by organized crime figure Arnold Rothstein widely believed to have conspired to fix the 1919 World Series. Though Rothstein was never indicted or even charged with any crimes he was a noted gambler and criminal who was murdered in 1928 in retaliation for his refusal to pay a large gambling debt. This letter was sent by Rothstein to his business partner A.K. Libman a letter that accompanied a check for $79.32. On Rothstein's business letterhead the letter does exhibit mild creasing where it has been folded the right lower corner having been torn or trimmed away. Rothstein's signature however is in outstanding condition applied in black ink under the salutation. An exceptional historically significant signature. LOA from Steve Grad at Beckett Authentication.
