Early base mitt manufactured by J.C. Higgins circa 1915-20 a dark leather glove using the brand name "Black Beauty." Buckle-back wrist strap and original piping still intact as is the original lacking. Supple leather is cracked around the thumb and exhibits significant wear inside and out yet still displays well. The "Black Beauty" name is stamped into the leather above the palm still visible upon close inspection. A difficult and very collectible vintage glove.
