Fantastic 1967 Topps set one of the cleanest and sharpest we have handled. Part of an attractive run of sets we have acquired for sale in this auction from a consignor who built sets several years ago by purchasing large higher-grade lots cherry picking the finest examples and re-selling the rest these cards are the "cream of the crop" from that endeavor. A longstanding wisecrack in the hobby is how auction houses typically describe everything as "better than the assigned grade." We try and reserve that sort of description for when it counts and in this case it counts. A technical assessment of condition would be 6% NM-MT 25% NM 42% EX/MT 25% EX and 2% lesser with a few trimmed. A closer examination however would yield a host of EX and EX/MT cards that appear far stronger save for a single corner ding (a common issue with the cards in this set at those grades) or in some cases centering. Again and again while examining the individual cards we were forced to reduce a NM-MT card to EX/MT due to a light ding on one corner only; flipping through the binder yields an extremely sharp clean and colorful ungraded set.
