Extraordinary 1960 Topps complete set assembled carefully by a dedicated collector who consistently upgraded purchasing ungraded lots of cards and choosing the best of the group and re-selling the rest over a period of many years some years ago. The collector had an affinity for this set in particular and sought out examples with rich color and a lack of the Topps print defects common to the issue. Unlike many collectors in the early days of grading the collector paid close attention to centering with this issue selecting the best-centered examples he could find. The collection also includes 18 duplicates with alternate color backs (grey/white). The result is a wonderful higher-grade set. A technical breakdown of the set would have approximately 4% of the cards grading NM-MT or better with 16% NM 41% EX/MT 35% EX 3% VG/EX or lesser and a few likely trimmed. 39 cards have been graded by PSA including one we submitted ourselves (#160 Mantle/Boyer which graded NM 7). Of the graded cards eight have graded NM-MT 8 five graded NM-MT 8A 12 graded NM 7 two graded NM 7Q 11 graded EX-MT 6 and one #350 Mickey Mantle graded EX 5.
