Assembled carefully over the period of several years by a diligent collector who acquired group lots from the issue and consistently upgraded his cards paying specific attention in this instance to centering wherever possible. The 1961 Topps issue is notorious for poor centering and other print defects making a collection where centering is carefully considered all the more desirable. Technically despite the eye appeal this is more a midgrade set particularly in the lower numbers. The consignor paid closer attention to technical grade in the tough high number series and the result is typically sharper corners and less visible wear with the tougher cards.
