Truly exceptional eye appeal this "Retired" version of John Ward's N300 Mayo card has been graded GOOD 2 by SGC due almost entirely to a small strip of paper loss and staining along the top edge of the reverse. Aside from that the wear is minimal with only slight border chipping and white-tipped corners due to the chipping so common with these cards. A very desirable card of Ward issued to commemorate his retirement. The existence of a different Ward variation coupled with this one serves as evidence that the set was initially printed in 1894 as opposed to 1895 as conventional wisdom indicates.
