Due to the colorful imagery and sparse backgrounds of the cards there is not likely a vintage set produced by Topps more conducive to collecting autographed examples than the 1958 issue. Presented here is an astonishing grouping of 301 different signed cards from the set representing 60% of a complete signed set. Assembled by a dedicated collector of autographed cards who concentrated primarily on Bowman but also had an affinity for the 1957 and 1958 Topps issues the majority of these signatures were obtained in person and through the mail some dating back as early as the 1970s. The collection includes many Hall of Famers stars and deceased players. The bulk of the collection displays very well averaging VG/EX condition with typical Topps centering. Some grade lesser a few with writing or other back issues and a few grade higher. The majority of the signatures are in ballpoint ink as that is what our consignor preferred.
