One of the more beautiful prewar tobacco issues the T204 Ramly set features attractive black and white portrait photos surrounded by an ornate gold leaf border set against a stark white background. Extremely popular among collectors today the cards are typically found worn as the gold leaf was particularly susceptible to chipping and wear. This example featuring Hall of Famer Joe Tinker is particularly beautiful for the grade assigned simply due to some minor creasing and surface wear most notably on the left side of the image. Still the gold leaf borders are still bright and vivid the quality of the photo clear. A lovely card for the grade one of Tinker's more desirable mainstream issues.
