Gorgeous colorful postcard advertising Ratsch Peerless sporting goods. The pre-printed reverse postally used and dated December of 2008 reads "This illustrates our Window Display Panorama. Do you want one? If so write us & we will tell you how to get one FREE." The illustration on the front is gorgeous and colorful depicting an illustration of the 1908 Championship Series between the Cubs and Detroit Tigers members of each team flanking the image. Print along the left side of the postcard refers to the exact size of the window display (40" x 30" x 12"). Relatively scarce postcard is dated December 10 1908 (as are other examples of this postcard that we have encountered in our research clearly part of a large-scale mailing on the part of Ratsch-Peerless). The card does exhibit some toning and overall wear from age and postal use. The existence of the postcard does of course raise the question: what happened to the window displays? To our knowledge no surviving examples have surfaced within the hobby. We are certain that if one exists it is stunning - and quite valuable. Does anyone have one? Has anyone seen one? We will offer a generous consignor incentive to the first person to come forward with a full Ratsch Peerless window display!
