I have one to sell!
Early baseball CdV that was actually used in the pages of Mark Rucker's well-known book Baseball Cartes - The First Baseball Cards. The nine players pictured on the card wear bib-style uniforms that actually label the position of each player the pitcher bearing the additional distinction of having the word "Captain" emblazoned on his belt. The image quality is exceptional with the majority of the wear restricted to the outeer edges of the piece. A small strip of vintage paper remains attached at the top border; some unidentifiable writing can be seen underneath what appears to be light staining perhaps from some sort of vintage adhesive. The reverse bears the logo of S. G. Rogers Photographer Waynesburg Green Co. Pa. One of the most unique of all the baseball-related CdVs we have handled the distinctive uniforms visible equipment and clear image all adding to the exceptional nature of the piece.
