Extraordinary example of the "retired" variation of Hall of Famer John Ward's Mayo card. Though SGC has assigned a grade of EX 5 to the card it appears far superior the very slight corner chipping at the two bottom and upper-right corners accounting for the technical assessment but having very little impact on overall visual appeal. The quality of the image is strong the borders a deep black corners and edges sharp and square. Border chipping is a well-known condition sensitivity with Mayo cards; between both SGC and PSA just one other example has been graded at this level with only one higher.
