Unusual collection of material related to Happy Felton and Knothole Gang. Felton was a multi-talented entertainer who found fame as the host of a children's baseball-oriented television show called Happy Felton's Knothole Gang which was broadcast live from Ebbets Field from April of 1950 until the Dodgers left Brooklyn. The program gave youngsters the opportunity to ask questions and then work out with members of the Dodgers and then the best ballplayer would receive a prize (typically an autographed ball) along with an opportunity to meet the entire team. Included here are three pieces related to the program: 1) July 31 1954 Pass: issued to John Bruen of the Goshen NY Little League permitting he and his team access to Ebbets Field for the game. Coincidentally this was the game that Joe Adcock of the Braves crushed four home runs and a double setting the record for total bases in a game. 2) July 21 1949 Knot Hole Membership Card: Issued to a difficult-to read youngster for his appearance on the program. GOOD condition with original string button tag pass has been well-used folded down the middle with paper loss along the bottom lightly soiled with pencil writing faded considerably. 3) Happy Felton Signed 3" x 5" Card: Bold ballpoint signature COA from James Spence Authentication. Three pieces total.
