Stunning glass pinball machine backglass from Midway's 1965 "Play Ball" pinball machine. Featuring beautiful rich color graphics of cartoon ballplayers and umpire in front of the grandstand this 28" x 22" piece is set on 1/8" thick glass an extremely fragile heavy piece. Extremely colorful the backglass exhibits some minor wear and surface abrasion at the edges but the method of construction involves the glass being mounted to the artwork somehow so the color is well-protected behind the glass and thus does not exhibit much wear. Baseball pinball machines are very collectible but are also very large; the graphics from old machines present collectors with the opportunity to obtain beautiful display pieces that are often very scarce. Extremely fragile and extremely attractive.
