Truly exceptional single-signed baseball bearing the unmistakeable autograph of Jimmie Foxx boldly signed in blank ink with a steel-tip fountain pen. The signature was applied directly across the sweet spot on a Gold Smith brand "Official League" baseball. The ball itself dates to the 1926-1933 period and is relatively clean with some mild toning and a few slight stains on the side of the ball opposite the signature. Off the 500 Home Run Club members single-signed balls from Foxx are among the most scarce and difficult to obtain and this is a stellar example. The signature is dark and clean with some small areas where the ink sppears to have skipped or faded away - however the entirety of the signature is as dark and bold as we have seen on a baseball contrasting well with the light toning of the ball.
