Lot Description  

Beautiful 8 1/2" x 6 5/8" photo depicting Giants pitcher Christy Mathewson along with team doctor "Dr. Finley " dated with handwritten notes to March of 1915 on the reverse. The photo is incredibly sharp with some minor staining along the top of the photo and some mild corner wrinkling none of which interferes with the eye appeal of the photo. Handwritten notations and the International News Photo stamp appear on the reverse. The photo was taken in 1915 when the Giants visited Marlin Texas but the print dates to the 1940s given the WWII-era paper and International News Photo stamp. A beautiful vintage photo of Mathewson. LOA from PSA/DNA.
