I have one to sell!
Full spread from the July 25 1847 issue of Harper's Weekly a colorized version of which hangs in the offices of Love of the Game Auctions. The important page is page 624 which includes woodcut images of nine Philadelphia Athletics ballplayers including Hall of Famer Cap Anson (depicted at lower right). One of the more important of the Harper's woodcuts the image also includes Dick McBride who pitched all 487 of the team's innings that season (the team played 55 league games). Also depicted are outfielder John Clapp (led the team in home runs with 3) catcher Mike McGeary (.321 batting average) outfielder John McMullin (.346 batting average) first baseman Wes Fisler (.328 batting average) second baseman Joe Battin (27 RBI) third baseman Ezra Sutton (.282 average) and outfielder Count Gedney (34 RBI). An outstanding woodcut image one of our favorites.
