Beautiful handwritten letter dated October 5 1875 from Andrew Peck of the Peck & Snyder company to one James Staley of Ames NY. The letter itself refers to Peck's busy schedule and the stress of compiling the company's latest catalog (we can relate) along with other personal details. The letter is written on gorgeous Peck & Snyder letterhead mailed in a spectacular envelope featuring an image of the Peck & Snyder building in New York City. Peck & Snyder is of course the first company to issue a baseball cards between 1868 and 1870. As such this is a very early letter from one of the fathers of our hobby written just a few years after the cards were issued. Outstanding condition with minor tears folds and discoloration consistent with age suitable for display.
