Attractive pair of baseball-themed carnival canes likely dating from the late 1900s to the early teens. Walking stick-styled canes such as these were produced as novelties and were common prizes for carnival games through the 1930s when they began to be replaced by less expensive prizes. The older of the two canes features a figural ballplayer's head with a short-brimmed cap atop a slender black bamboo stick measuring 34" in length. Some of the black coloring has chipped off with time certainly nothing to degrade the eye appeal or apparent condition of the piece. The second cane features a "figure 8" baseball attached to a smooth hardwood walking stick. Each cane grades EX with no major condition flaws. A wonderful display pair. Two canes total.
