A spectacular card from one of the most beautiful sets ever produced this card of Hall of Famer Cap Anson is impeccably clean well-centered with an outstanding quality image reduced in technical grade to VG+ only due to corner wear and a few specks of paper loss on the reverse near the bottom of the card. This is a spectacular card. The N162 Anson is often seen but it seems that it is always the same handful of cards making the rounds - one of the handful of horribly faded written-on or altered copies that seem to always be on dealer tables or in auction catalogs. Not only is this the key card in the desirable N162 Goodwin Champions set it is one of the key cards in 19th Century baseball collecting. Cap Anson is the most popular and widely-collected figure in 19th Century baseball and this is easily his most colorful and certainly one of his most attractive. It is safe to say that a 19th Century baseball collection is not complete without an N162 Anson. This example is exceptionally bright and colorful crease-free one of the most attractive midgrade examples of this card you are likely to find.
