Pair of 3/4" Whitehead & Hoag pinbacks advertising Sporting Life magazine. The first more common three-color version features a dapper red white and blue Uncle Sam holding a copy of the magazine with a large 5 cent price on the front page. Printed around the edge of the pinback is "Sporting Life" "Baseball" "Guns" "Cycling." The pinback appears in VG/EX condition with a blemish across the top near Uncle Sam's hat running horizontally across the pinback. Also included is a far more rare one-color version of the same pinback. This example is printed entirely in blue much darker than the more common three-color version with Uncle Sam's striped pants and vest printed in blue and no 5 cent price on the front page of the paper. Pinback presents in EX-MT condition. An interesting pair of pinbacks including a tough variation. Two pins total.
