The beauty of vintage baseball uniform and equipment catalogs is quite underrated as has their desirability in the hobby perhaps because they are misunderstood among most collectors. As they were not manufactured as collectibles surviving examples are rare (particularly in strong condition) and the major manufacturers often utilized imagery of the game's greatest stars - as such a quality equipment catalog might include endorsements and familiar photographs of some of the game's greatest players. Lastly catalogs that included uniforms often were presented with flannel fabric swatches resulting in a beautiful display. This particular example the 1915 Draper & Maynard catalog is the finest we've seen. Including images of such greats as Johnny Evers and Clark Griffith the catalog itself has been remarkably well-preserved with all its many fabric swatches remaining intact and affixed to their positions inside the pages. In addition to the catalog itself the collection includes an original Draper-Maynard tape measure (still folded and clipped together) a letter (and envelope) addressed to H.L. Spealman of Chadwick IL and two large-format order forms. Each item in the package remains in exceptional condition with some minor wear at the weak spots (i.e. corners edges spines and such) being the items' primary condition issues. One of the finest equipment catalogs we have seen including a host of valuable and highly desirable ancillary pieces. Six items total.
