Beautiful retail countertop display featuring 1952 Star-Cal Type 1 and Type 2 decals of New York Yankees. Meauring 13 1/4 x 21 1/4" the display features seven Type 1 decals and three Type 2 and includes the very desirable Mickey Mangle decal. Highly desirable today the set was produced by the Meyercord Company of Chicago distributed in distinctive red-bordered wrappers. The display itself is relatively sturdy and attractive with expected wear at the corners and bottom edges consistent with its use and a tear midway down the left border. The silver-grey color is bold and strong the easel back intact. Though exhibiting minor age-related wear the ten decals all appear strong and colorful the wrappers encapsulating the cards with a tight seal. Star-Cal decals are among the more desirable 1950s oddball issues with the Mickey Mantle being one of the Hall of Famer's most sought-after cards. Also included are the Type 2 decals of Allie Reynolds/Vic Raschi Yogi Berra/Eddie Lopat and Phil Rizzuto/Jerry Coleman along with Type 1 decals of Mantle Phil Rizzuto (HOF) Jerry Coleman Allie Reynolds Yogi Berra Vic Raschi and Eddie Lopat. The intact retail display lends an added element of rarity to the collection as the displays simply do not make themselves available often. Ten decals plus one display total.
