Gorgeous "Blue Background" Honus Wagner from the M116 Sporting Life set an undisputed key from one of the hobby's most underrated sets. Issued in groups of 24 cards per series the blue background cards represent a subset within the series more scarce and generally better appreciated than the others. The 24 blue background cards (which were also issued with white backgrounds) feature the game's most popular stars hence the inclusion of Wagner. Of all the M116 blue background Wagners graded by PSA the company has assessed just three at the NM 7 level with only one example higher rendering this one of the finest in existence. The corners and color are easily consistent with the grade and perhaps even a higher grade though left-to-right centering would keep the card from a higher holder. Still an incredible high-grade scarcity depicting one of the game's greatest players in his legendary Carl Horner portrait image the numerical grade making the card one of the finest examples known.
