Jim Braddock "The Cinderalla Man " came back from boxing obscurity and the welfare rolls during the Great Depression to win the Heavyweight title from Max Baer. The New Jersey native later lost the title to Joe Louis in 1937. This striking photo of Braddock in the ring and ready to battle comes from his training in the run-up to the Louis fight. Multiple editorial markings are prevalent on the photo the reverse containing stamps from 1937 1940 and 1974 along with erasures and pencil markings. An exceptional photo.
