Attractive "Magic Lantern" slide advertising Jack Dempsey as "The best known man in the world " promoting the Daredevil Jack series by Pathes. Magic Lantern slides were widely used in the early 1900s paired with special projectors which gave people an early look at color images of people locations and other items of interest. The slide is in excellent condition. Rarely are we able to see actual color images from this era. Transparencies such as this give us a more contemporary-looking window into the period affording us the opportunity to witness images from the time in living color. An outstanding piece from the Daredevil Jack series though Babe Ruth might have disputed the "Best-known man in the world" claim.
