Spectacular "Washington Portrait" T206 card of Kid Elberfeld one of the more highly sought-after team variations in the T206 issue. Despite having graded nearly 270 examples of the card just 7 (five graded NM 7 and two graded NM-MT 8) have graded higher than this with just two other examples out there having attained this grade. This particular card was consigned ungraded at the National along with a large grouping of other clean sharp T206s that also appear in this auction. While most of the cards in that consignment were more common this Elberfeld was one of the keys. High grade examples coming to market are rare; just one of the PSA 7 examples sold for nearly $5000 back in 2007 and a PSA 6.5 example sold for $8400 in 2008. This is a sharp clean and attractive example worthy of the assigned grade.
