Collection of three sports calendars as published by New York radio station WHN (later WMGM) detailing their monthly schedule of sports broadcasts. These calendars were inserted into New York area issues of Sport magazine. Much like TV Guide radio stations would publish program guides to alert listeners to important shows and events that would be broadcast. Local sports fans - much like the consignor of these three items - would retrieve the guides from their local newspapers and hang them up making their entertainment plans for the month. Included in the collection are: 1) WHN April 1947 Schedule: includes Jackie Robinson's first Major League Game. 2) WHN March 1948 Schedule. 3) WMGM November 1950 Schedule. All three present well with moderate wear related to age and a fold down the middle. An excellent document of early New York sports radio.
