Beautiful Type I news service photo dating to 1924-25 measuring approximately 10" x 8" picturing Walter Johnson warming up alongside several other Washington Senators reammates ostensibly on the sidelines at Griffith Stadium. Any photo depicting Johnson in the midst of his famous slingshot windup is an interesting one; legend states he was the fastest pitcher ever but photo and video make his delivery seem effortless. The photo itself is in VG/EX condition though the image appears tremendous with some very light wrinkling and a few surface blemishes here and there none of which detract from the visual appeal. The reverse contains a few signs of newsroom use and the remnants of paper that indicates scrapbook mounting. A gorgeous vintage photo of one of the game's most popular players arguably the greatest pitcher of all-time.
