Very difficult type card distributed in 1939 by the Philadelphia-area shoe chain Father & Son Shoes. The unnumbered black and white cards contain members of the Phillies and A's and are scarce enough that the checklist currently numbering 17 subjects is considered incomplete. As is the case with tough issues like this the numerical grade is less important than the rarity; the FAIR 20 grade assessed by SGC is due to a spot of paper loss at the top-right edge and little else. Aside from that obvious flaw the card image and overall eye appeal are quite strong particularly given the grade.
