The debut season of the AA-level International League featured eight teams: The Baltimore Orioles Buffalo Bisons Jersey City Skeeters Montreal Royals Newark Indians Providence Grays Rochester Hustlers and Toronto Maple Leafs. Each of those teams would go on to achieve historical significance and spawn significant players; well-known player names in 1912 included Dummy Taylor and Chick Gandil (Montreal); Wid Conroy and Fred Jacklitsch (Rochester); Bob Shawkey and Jimmy Dygert (Baltimore); Boss Schmidt and Gabby Street (Providence) and plenty more. Measuring approximately 5" x 6 3/4" this thin book was published by the American Sports Publishing Company and contains the operating rules of the fledgeling league. Also featuring plenty of Spalding ads the book is in VG/EX condition with plenty of age-related wear. Saddle stitched the staples appear to be tearing away slightly from some of the interior pages but the book remains intact. The back cover exhibits staining and more excessive wear. Still a remarkable piece illustrating the business rules of a brand new league that would eventually yield some of the game's greatest players.
